GEOGRAPHY, HABITS AND CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING

Globalization includes both the globalization of the economy and the globalization of culture. When globalization is deepening today, it is still difficult for people around the world to understand and appreciate each other culturally. One of the geographers' tasks is to show what the cultures of different places are and to promote global understanding. The habits are relatively stable contents in a culture. To understand the habits of people around the world is the basic approach of global understanding. The Commission of Global Understanding aims to enhance the cultural understand from the perspectives of human geography and physical geography. The commission C1.18 is proposes a session with the title of Geography, Habits and Global Understanding. We welcome the geographers from every country in the world to submit the papers related to the following topics. - The wisdom of the local knowledge for sustainable development - The consumption habit and international trade - The local habits and place making in tourism - Housing habits and historic heritage preservation - The local food and health geography - Language, arts and folklores.
